JEAN DUBUFFET (1901-1985), Le dentiste, 1947

JEAN DUBUFFET (1901-1985)

Le dentiste, 1947
Incised ink and gesso on card

49.5 x 32.3 cm (19 ½ x 12 ¾ in.)
According to Sophie Webel from the Fondation Dubuffet (November 2005), Rudy Augustinci was from Italian descent and was managing the Galerie Rive Gauche in Paris. They worked together with Jean Dubuffet in the early fifties. In the beginning of their relationship, Dubuffet used to write “Augustincic”. The signature, date and dedication were added by the artist, which was confirmed by the Dubuffet Fondation.
